1st Rally Trial Goes Very Well!

Cathy and Misha’s first Rally Trial on Sept 14, 2019. After a long day of waiting, all involved were pretty beat. Misha was a champ alternating between her crate, potty runs, leisurely walks, and working walks. Placed 3rd with a 97 out of 100! OH, and Misah says she likes Cheetos for a show treat, thanks Kate!

Misha the Little Ham

What you can’t see in this pictures is the tail wagging at the prospect of being the subject of pictures. She isn’t as bad as our Sheltie, Lassie. Lassie actually smiled whenever a camera was pointed at her. LOL

Misha Was Bad

Misha ate the front of the rocker runnerI think that the stress of the move and us being gone may be adding up for Misha, this morning she decided that she needed to eat one of our Victorian era replica rocking chair. 🙁

Guess who turned One today?

Guess who turned One today? Happy Birthday Dear Misha! Well, technically it was yesterday and I didn’t get it posted until today.

The plan was to go to the dog park but by the time we all got off work it was raining. So, we went to the local pet store for a weigh in and some socialization…. oh, and a birthday present or two. LOL Misha weighed in at 87 pounds, pretty much the same as a month and a half ago.

The birthday “cake” is a can of soft dog food. Misha patiently waited for Cathy to light the candle and take the picture even with the amazing smell of the “cake” (Misha’s words not mine). Cathy made the mistake of saying “OK” once the picture was taken, that is Misha’s release word. Quick hands stopped Misha from eating the “cake” candle and all. Once the candle was safely out and removed Misha attacked the “cake” with the gusto of any 1 year old! It took less than 10 seconds before all that was left was being licked from her mustache. 🙂

Each time we take her out it takes her less and less time to settle down. She met some new people and new dogs. I think that the new “kettle bell” ball will be fun for her out in the yard, no rope for her to chew through.

A Great Rally Class Last Night

Got wonderful complements on Misha at rally from both instructors tonight. She is finally starting to settle down a bit and concentrate on working instead of just wanting to play all the time in class.

The best part was that on the 3rd run through, Misha was doing the “back up” station with no luring or Cathy needing to coach with the leash! She is a wonderful, smart puppy.

No Show for Misha

We had to drop out of Misha’s first show because of back to back months of car issues; $700 in tires on one car and $550 in timing belt on the other. 🙁 We were bummed, because it would have been a family reunion of sorts for her.

But on a good note, her sister won best of breed puppy!

Misha’s First Show Coming

Misha has been busy taking classes at Leashes and Leads, Rally I and Confirmation classes. Misha is getting ready for her first show, Belle-city Kennel Club, down in Gray Summit, MO.

She completed the first Rally class and mostly did alright. I have come to believe that the Rally classes are more of the owner/handlers than the dogs. The station cards can get fairly complicated to parse out while under the pressure to perform. Misha, pretty much doesn’t care, she does what she is told…. most of the time.

Cathy has been attending confirmation classes to learn how to stack and run the dog, we still have a ways to go. We are under no illusions that we will do well, but will have fun. Though, last week Misha stacked well and placed “2nd” in form behind the Grand Champion that was in the class. So, there is promise.

We will meet up with the breeder and Misha will get a grooming and play with her mommy. Also, 2 of her siblings should be there too, so it will be a family reunion of sorts. Having our first show be so far from home and in the winter may not have been the best idea since the trailer we were going to borrow was frozen into the ground. Nor sure if we can get the kennel, even broke down, into the HHR with out having to put down both seats. Even with the small seat down I am not sure if there will be enough room for Misha in the back seat.

Misha in the Snow MLKJ Day

I am off for Martin Luther King, Jr Day and Misha was enjoying herself out in the fresh 3″-4″ of snow. I looked out my Den window and saw her rooting around in the snow. I chuckled to myself. When she looked up and at my window I knew I needed a picture. Here she is when I asked her to come in the house. LOL

Fist Day of Doggy Daycare

Misha spent the day at Leashes & Lead’s Dog Camp (Doggy Daycare). Apparently she had a great time playing with all the other dogs. Since we were going to be out of town we decided to take advantage of the coupon for a free day. It was a great time to test the service.

When I brought her home she was able to eat some food, once she ate most of her dinner she went over by the mudroom door and laid down. She hasn’t moved in the last hour or so. Not even when Cathy came down from her nap to say hello to Misha. Misha barely even lifted her head. I would say that she had a great time and will be sleeping well tonight.
